i miss simple.

i miss when things were simple.

when things were easy. not dramatic. when everyday wasn't filled with personal stress.

when the biggest decision to make was which bar to go to after work. or what movie to watch from nextflix.

you hear alot about "the crossroads of life".

they are overrated. by far.

Whew! The fourth and more....

Ok, we had a nice fourth weekend. Hope yours was great too!

Saturday we made the journey to Aledo to visit little mama and the boy's BFF's for H's birthday party, and fireworks! (Legal there....)

Aledo is about an hour and 15 min from our house. sweetpea finally crashes on the way out. little mama is asleep. the boy decides he needs to pee. Arg. So we are just hitting downtown ft. worth. I exit the first chance i get, and we are.....in a lovely industrial neighborhood, and i am looking at an armored car depot, a red cross shelter, and a coupel trucking businesses. Other direction? Lots and lots of liquor stores. Huh. Ok, industrial side it is. No portapotties in sight....so ok, side of the road. Get pulled over, get the boy out of the car.....he finally starts to go....and a FUNERAL PROCESSION GOES BY AS HE PEES.

me: son, stop baby.
b: mama, i got a lot of peepee, one minute.
me: buddy, at least turn around (since we are pretty much in full view)
b: mama, i can't, i am thinking.
me: about what?
b: making peepee

arg. so, i feel terrible. i hope the people in the procession have a sense of humor.....

we get to aledo, finally, and have a wonderful time. we stay out way way too late. don't get home till midnight.

haven't hit much else on the list, with all the holiday fun.

but, upcoming,
1) getting sweetpea Baptized
2) hamm's orchard
3) the zoo (probably saturday, when its cool and rainy!)
4) the circus
5) a playdate with some new friends from little mama's new school!

the kids summer to-do list

ok....here's the list we started. some of this won't happen, but a lot of it will. i love having a list, because, well, aside from LOVING to write lists, it gives us a backup plan. nothing to do today? what's on the list?

little mama and the boy made up MOST of this list....if some of the phrasing is off...

1) go to gymnastics
2) go to chuck e cheese
3) go to pump it up
4) swim at nana's house
5) water balloon fight
6) go to silly grandpa's house
7) visit Ripley's believe it or not
8) visit the zoo and play in the water
9) watch a hockey game
10) play at the sprayground
11) see Toy Story 3
12) watch a Tinkerbell movie
13) visit the library
14) visit silly grandpa's museum (the ft. worth science museum....)
15) play movie theatre at home
16) see the beauty and the beast musical
17) see giggle, giggle. quack (a play)
18) go to the beach and find seashells and go in the water
19) go to mcanally grandmas house
20) find a new place to swim
21) airplane museum (both frontiers of flight and cavanagh)
22) ice skating
23) roller skating
24) play at the park
25) see the circus
26) go to the rangers game
27) go get peaches and eat ice cream (visit hamm's orchard in terrell)
28) go to the bakery and get lots of cookies
29) see a summer parade (i have no idea what that means....)

AND so far, in the first week of summer, we have done #3, 5, 10, 13 and 19! with plans and tickets for many more.....
and as always....suggestions are loved....
